We're excited to unveil the new Richmond Public Schools website, with a refreshed design across all 50 school websites and the division homepage.
As we continue to refine content and make improvements, you may notice a few pages that are still being updated or links that are not yet available. Coming to Richmond from Minnesota, Ms. Pendleton began her career as an early childhood teacher. She's also been a school leader, and has degrees in family education, education leadership, and school administration. Her favorite book to recommend young readers is Crown: An Ode to the Fresh Cut by Derrick Barnes. "This book resonates with me because it celebrates the unique cultural experience of a trip to the barbershop, an integral part of the Black community. The vivid illustrations and rhythmic prose perfectly capture the joy, pride, and confidence that come with a fresh haircut. It's a powerful reminder of the importance of self-esteem and cultural pride. This book not only reflects the diverse backgrounds of our students but also promotes a positive and empowering message about embracing one’s identity and heritage."
