Dear Frances W. McClenney Families,
It is my honor to welcome you to the 2024 – 2025 school year! We are grateful you've chosen our school to educate your child. Our ultimate goal is to cultivate learners into leaders by being a resource that propels learners to be future change agents.
Welcome to our new families, whether you are joining us from another school in the district or have relocated from another city or state. We have excellent prepared staff! They are eager to do what is necessary to see your child succeed.
I am equally thrilled to partner with Ms. Foster as assistant principal. She has worked seventeen years in various instructional and leadership roles at RPS including classroom teacher, literacy coach,and academic coordinator. I am starting my nineteenth year as an elementary principal with teaching experience in early childhood and family/parent education.
Here are a few reminders: The first day is August 19th. The doors open at 8:00 for breakfast. Please don’t leave children at school before this time. The school day starts at 8:15. Children must be picked up each day at 3:45. Please make sure your contact information is current. Please don’t send food or snacks to school to share with other scholars.
Please note this important change, parents who drop off and pick up children in your personal vehicle will now do so on Ordway Ave, not in the loop as is past.

Please mark your calendar for Cookies and Conversations on August 8 from 3:00-4:30 and Meet the Teacher night on August 15 from 4-6 pm.
We look forward to the start of the new school year and to continuing our collaboration of providing your children with an effective and engaging educational experience. As always, we will look to our families to be positive partners in their children’s educational journey.
